“ Went there on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Definitely the best time to go is during a weekday. Ordered the pan fried pork dumplings, pancakes and beef stir fry and spicy beef noodle soup. Best dish was the pan fried dumplings. It's a must order. ”
“ I’ve been here not less than four times. It was recommended by a friend, and they say it has been around in Ashfield for many years. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is authentically Shanghai-style. Both the dumplings and stir-fried dishes are made fresh on the spot. In this age of mechanized mass production, being able to enjoy handmade dim sum feels amazing. The pan-fried pork buns are probably made with leavened dough, with the folded side facing upwards, and although they don't have an excess of that much broth, they have a refreshing taste, with the dough being fluffy and the bottom crisped to a golden brown. The Shanghai style Pork & Veggies fried rice with is even better, and it contains both savory preserved meat and sausage, making it exceptionally delicious. A dim sum restaurant worth trying! ”
“ food is so good! my family and i have been here 3 times over the course of our one week holiday. chinese comfort food done right. some of the highlights are the pan fried buns, beef hor fun, stir fried hand made noodles with pork and vege and honey fried chicken. definitely would recommend! prices are reasonable, portion is very generous and food is served very quickly. they also give free tea to everyone. staff is very friendly and toilets are clean ”
“ Xiao long bao is ok, but the pan fried dumpling is delicious. Spacious and clean restaurant, food comes out very quick. I think they had a renovation. Menu is quite extensive so may come back to try other dishes. I paid $33 for 3 dishes which was reasonable. ”
“ Went here for the first time with friends who highly recommended it, and they were right! The food was amazing: so rich in flavor, generous portions, and great quality. The service was fast and everyone was so welcoming. The prices were also a highlight , very reasonable for how much delicious food you get. I’ll definitely be coming back! ”
“ Delicious & Affordable Shanghai Food – Highly Recommend! We had a fantastic lunch at Shanghai Night Ashfield (275 Liverpool Street). The food was authentic, full of flavour, and very affordable. We ordered: • 上海粗炒 (Shanghai-style thick fried noodles) • 小籠包 (Xiao Long Bao – soup dumplings) • 鍋貼 (Pan-fried pork dumplings) • 豆沙窩餅 (Red bean paste sesame pancake) • 牛肉炒芥蘭 (Stir-fried beef with Chinese broccoli) Everything tasted great! We especially recommend the 豆沙窩餅 (red bean sesame pancake) – it’s hard to find in Sydney, and theirs is crispy, fragrant, and not overly sweet. Definitely worth trying! The price is also very cheap – we usually order 5 to 6 dishes and it still comes to under $80. Great value for quality food. The boss is also lovely – funny, polite, and welcoming. He speaks Cantonese, which made us feel right at home. Suggestion: It would be amazing if they could offer a smaller combo portion for 生煎包 (pan-fried buns) and 鍋貼 (pan-fried dumplings) – like 4 pieces total with a mix of both. We love them, but with just two of us dining, it’s hard to finish two full orders. We always struggle to choose between them! Overall, a great spot for tasty Shanghai food with generous portions, great prices, and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back! ”
